How can we help?
Getting started, answers to common questions, and a way to reach us.
Getting started
Three steps, and your App Store listing is in Valance, ready to edit. Nothing changes on App Store Connect until you review and push.
-
Create an API key
In App Store Connect, go to Users and Access → Integrations and generate an App Store Connect API key with the Admin or App Manager role. Download the .p8 file, and note the key’s Key ID and the Issuer ID shown on the same page.
Apple lets you download a key’s .p8 file only once, so keep it somewhere safe.
-
Add the key to Valance
Open Valance → Settings → Accounts and import the .p8 file. Valance stores the private key in your Mac’s Keychain.
-
Create a project and pull
Create a new project, connect it to your app in App Store Connect and choose Pull. Pulling only reads from App Store Connect. Edit, review the changes, and push when you’re ready.
Questions
Does Valance replace fastlane?
It works alongside it. Import an existing fastlane metadata folder to start a project, and export one at any time, so your fastlane setup keeps working.
What does the free version include?
Everything Valance does, for one app: the first app you connect. It can’t be switched to a different app later.
A one-time purchase unlocks Valance for all your apps. There’s no subscription.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Valance → Settings → Purchase and choose Restore Purchase, signed in with the Apple Account you bought Valance with.
Is my API key safe?
The private key is stored in your Mac’s Keychain and used only to talk to Apple. Valance signs each request with it; the key itself is never sent anywhere.
Can I keep projects in git?
Yes. A project is plain files, made to be committed. Review listing changes in a pull request, branch for a redesign, or roll back a bad edit.
Which platforms does Valance support?
App Store listings for iOS and iPadOS apps, and for macOS apps. Valance itself runs on macOS 27 or later.
Something not working?
Email us with your macOS version, your Valance version and what you were doing when it went wrong. Please never send your .p8 file or its contents.
